Made these for my daughter's wedding on May 9. Necklaces for the 6 bridesmaids and a cake knife and server.

and been playing with a bit of fusing as well, using the Retro Warp technique from System 96 tutorials http://www.system96.com/Pages/FusedProjectGuides.html

Pick the real ones.  We get these toadstalls on the local hills in autumn.

Just a few of the latest beads COE 96,
The middle bead is from a rod that looked white but must have had a bit of silver or something because it seems to have bled a bit like COE 104 ivory. That bead is 62mm long, about 2.5 inches in old money.

I just finished this. I made it for my wife to wear to our daughter's wedding on Saturday. Fingers crossed for a sunny day!

What, no gallery? No shiny glass to distract me in my lunchbreak?!

Go on then, seeing as I've *finally* got my shedio up and running and have some semi-presentable beads (only slightly wonky) to share I will start a gallery thread in the hope that some other newbies will join me. I have been mostly practising donut shaping, trying to identify some unlabelled frit, Helen G's stripe tutorial from soda lime times and fishscales. Any feedback/tips gratefully received! I tried to recreate the swirl bead I learnt at Jennie Lamb's workshop last year, but my tungsten pick decided it was going to rotate in the holder rather than swirl the glass  :'(

So pleased that I was finally able to get this bead from the mandrel after a good few weeks using my crappy rivet gun.
I used the Reichenbach black for the thin line and bog standard black to get the haze around the dot.

Hello

I haven't been here myself for a while, but gosh it's quiet.

I thought I'd share a few bits in the hope of encouraging everybody else.

Probably ought to be in finished jewellery but I'm not great at photos and can never seem to make them look good undressed.

Please post more beads!!

Fantastic beads Julia and you've inspired me to post. I've been playing with making glass toggles for my toggle clasps.

I spent some time at the weekend practising my encasing and Jennie Lamb's feather bead tutorial and even though they still need some work, I'm rather happy with the eventual results. Especially as the lentil survived my lack of a kiln!
