Following on from the Oval Cabochon thread, here's another oval cabochon made on the large circular cabochon mandrel,

I've now attempted a heart shaped cabochon on a circular mandrel. The left hand is a bit too square for my liking but I'll live with it as it's the first one I've tried.

I was hoping someone else would have started a new gallery but at least I can't lower the tone ;D

Sorry for the hog but I have, at last, made some beads that I am reasonably happy with.
Can anyone tell me what causes the black line on the top set, it is made with CIM tandoori and a goldstone and clear stringer?

Nice sets. I agree with Helen, I like the second one down.

She's made of real glass. She got real real emotion. But my heart laughs I have that same sweet devotion!

I made my first ever screw-on ring topper. And then promptly forgot the ring at my mum's house, so now I won't actually get to wear it for a least a fortnight. Go me.

Love that first dish Dawn! Fab! (not that the second one isn't fab too...I just like he first one best!)

I have been playing with something I came up with ages ago, but never took anywhere (more about that on my blog, link in sig)

and now I'm pleased enough with them to show

and

off to make some more of those now :)

What fab beads, and other things this week.  ;D
We have been festooning our window with rainbow lampwork beads (and balls of wool and crochet snowflakes) all week in preparation for Okehampton Carnival's best dressed window competition. The theme is rainbows and I love making rainbow beads...

Some really nice pieces of work here and very well photographed as well,
its been a year ish since I played with the hothead so i thought what the heck go the whole hog - not a brilliant bead and not well photgraphed  :D

Hand pulled terra i got a while ago over ivory and encased. I like the 'moorcroft' feel to it and not too unhappy for a 3rd bead after a long break

Life is not a game - its THE game, so play it like you mean it
A Long time ago in Egypt cats were worshipped as Gods, cats have not forgotten this !

I made a test tree 50mm cabochon when I got back from Sandown yesterday. I think if I do another, I'll not melt in the stringer as much and keep it slightly proud of the base.

jammie

loving the tree bead there and everything else.
I have some to show at last, hearts ready for being made into pendants for the fair.
