Madam Steph

You may remember that way back at the beginning of December (seems years ago now), I attended the By George, It's Lush weekend at Malvern.
Well it's the first chance I have had to photograph my weekend's efforts, so here are the pics:

Absolutely everything was made that weekend. All the beads were made with Julie Fountain on the Saturday and on the Sunday they were cleaned and used to make into wearable items under the guidance and tuition of Mz George.

I have hardly left the bracelet ring and earrings off since that weekend, and will get around to wearing the fibula and pendant soon.

A wonderfully interesting and productive weekend, so thanks to both Julie and George

Here's a couple of sets I've made recently - triton wound beadies

Princess Peggy (Priscilla McGirr)

I love that ring topper too Rita, and the Christmas trees are great.  Hope no-one minds me showing a second bead this week, but I'm quite proud of this one .

Lovely beads everyone - just picking out a couple:  Miriam, love those brooches, and wonderful rainbow cane beads Sue - but they are all fab.

Here's something from me:

Gorgeous dots Sarah.

I just wanted to share this one, as I'm so proud of it.  I've been practicing petal beads on and off for ages, and have only managed to produce the odd nice one - I tend to get the core too hot and end up "spinning" the dots when I encase so I end up with a spiral.

Yesterday, I finally got one right!  Scuse the crappy photo, haven't had a chance to photo it properly yet.  Oh and yes, there are some teeny bubbles in it, which shouldn't be, but I don't care, I'm still doing a happy dance!

*peers around* I'll start this week, then :)

I have a little turquoise and raku kitty-cat. I made a pair of slightly improved ones of these for charms for family at Christmas, with tidier whiskers and a bit more cat-shaped.

Then I started making hearts: am going to make some into necklaces in the next two weeks.

Turquoise and raku hand-shaped heart.

Handshaped heart with Plowden & Thompson coe 93. It didn't like the purpur frit: there are surface cracks in the white and a bit of rough surface around it on the pink. I have a different one I made yesterday with the same pink that is fine. (I got the box of glass that was Kate Drew-Wilkinson's, so I've started experimenting with some of it. I have a post to do about that when I remember to get the photos).

Pink and dark lavender heart (so the dark lavender colour shifts and will look less blue under incandescents). I used some dichro here, and Kaz's murrini. The annoying thing is that in the middle of the swirl there's something that looks like a ridge or a shadow or a crack. As far as I can tell it isn't a crack, but it looks like one!

My brother got me Manda's harlequin tutorial for Christmas: here's my first go! A little uneven, but I'm wearing it now and really like it! I have a couple of big ones in the kiln.

Sorry for the hog. First day back torching with Valentine hearts from the kiln.

These are with Kaz's new My Funny Valentine frit and murrini:

One of the smaller Crocus may have a scuz, so I made another at the end, just in case:

First rule of thumb...never decorate both sides of a transparent heart :( :

Second rule of thumb...don't go overboard with the silver wire:
