Sorry to bring down the tone ...but these are my latest beads....as you can see, they all favour one side, which I just cannot seem to correct, (despite June's good advice about keeping mandrels level!)





The seahorse is amazing - I love the way his head is done in particular, it really gives him animation.

Some new ones from me.  The hearts are made with the heart press from Bavarian Beads.  Very puffy!   And me first go at a vessel.

You will have to excuse the not so good photo, but I only managed to get a couple of quick pics in before I had to pack them up to post off to Kate. 
After hours of pain, anguish a quite a few choice words I finally managed to get all three beads made.  I spent 6/7 hours at the torch after only making one bead and failed to make anything else! 
At that point I considered giving up, but sat down the next morning managed to get another bead made no probs, went out for lunch and came back and made the other one straight off.  Guess I was trying too hard

Lovely hearts, sea horses and mixed beadies!  I particularly like the effect on the hearts

Some more nugget beads and rounds from me.  The nuggets are seriously addictive to make as each one is slightly different in shape and size!

...and now for something completely different .... my first go at faces - need more ppp but they were funny to make and I think I will develop the clown theme as I practice

I thought it was about time that we had a thread dedicated to all our lovely beads that didn't make it.  I see the odd comment here and there about a bead that we have all spent time on and just at that critical moment when we have sat back for a moment of adoration - PING

So here I would love to see all your beads that you have loved and lost...

but lately my mandrels have just broken and the bead has fallen off.....

Blimey!

I've only ever lost one mandrel by burning through it - something was particularly fascinating on the telly and I completely forgot what I was doing, thank goodness it was the mandrel in the flame and not my finger 

Here's my Oh No bead, I didn't notice the crack until I was editing the photo!  (I really must get an eye test!)

What a fantastic show and tell, goddesses, hearts, seahorses, ammonites, fabulous faces and an entire coral reef!
All I have are a few very small sets to show.
A friend of mine asked me to make some spangles for her lace bobbins and, after a bit of research, a whole new world opened up! The cubes are a traditional design to stop the bobbin rolling across the lace pillow and the triangular ones are my modern take on the cubes.
   
A few beads done with the wonderful lacy intense black, very apt for lace bobbins
   
and frit  beads, called "crumb" beads in the lace spangle world, again the lumpy texture helps to prevent rolling.
   

Making small sets is a good way of getting back into making again after not being able to over the (seems like) very long Easter school holidays. I do still have my eldest home though, till next Wednesday which is his annual review day! arghhhhhh
