Fantastic S&T!! Mermaids, flowers, bowls, vessels, a mask and beads, beads beads....just wonderful!!

Here's me going all summery. Some of the nuggets have a design I've been working on for the last week (I know, there aren't many, they take forever to make, and I haven't had much torch time), and I am really chuffed with the big hole disk, made on Manda's 9mm mandrel:

I've been experimenting with tumbling glass lampwork beads, and I really like the finish - just like sea glass.  They're also really tactile too!



Also made this necklace for a customer who wanted matt black beads, so I tumbled them!

There's a really bright summery feel to S&T this week, and there are some gorgeous beads to drool over.
I haven't had time to photograph this weeks beads yet so thought I'd be brave and show my very....um....abstract(!) interpretation of "A Day At The Races" from the GBUK comp as it's certainly colourful. The idea was to try and represent all the frills/twirly bits/colours/flowers and overall wackiness of the ladies hats.

I had a request from a local jewellery designer for some big hole beads, I hadn't really thought about making bhb's but I'm not one to turn down potential business, so off I toddled to have a go.

something simple from me this week.

Inspired by a top I bought that had this type of glass button on, red buttons, purple top...wrong!
I went with the same design as what was on it (well almost, I replaced the green leafy stringer with goldstone stringer cause the top had gold printing around the bottom! and I put the flowers on the end, which is of course the front!)

these are simple too, spiral cores. as usual, these came out of just messing around, just a different take on a simple thing, I see lots of potential in these, so much so I went ahead and made one in clio...thats the one on the right sulking cause it hates the light tent.must work on the ends though, this style of encasing pulls them in alot more than I was expecting.

havnt made any new canes for a while. my colour sense is so off, you cant see theres teal in there at all! nevermind, the pattern was what I wanted...electric avenue a bad choice for the outside of course. where did my brain go when I picked these colours? notice the spiral core base bead though!

Josephine, when Andrea got her beads out to tempt us, I fell hook, line and sinker in love with her hearts and had to buy one - and they are huge!

I'm hoping my heart press(es!) from Maria Louisa will arrive soon, but in the meantime I'm still playing with my Bavarian Beads press, and Kaz's gorgeous Teeny Murrini

Thought I would just show you one more wee set that I have made for the show I am doing on Sunday. I am chuffed with these and it will be hard to part with them! I have decided that this range will be my Indian Summer range
