Dreams of Glass

#120

Great beads Marijane and Angelique, fab colour ;D wow Richard, you have deffinatly been busy, love the green swirls, and your focal LesleyMac :)

Cute silver cores Josephine, took me a while before I realised you put the core on afterwards :-[, I though you melted the glass onto the silver, spent ages wondered how many times you had to try getting the right amount of glass onto the silver without it going over the edge of the lip.... :-\

Haven't had much time to play, but have really got into the heavy encasing to make waves and distorting the inner core.

(these are for this month's brown challenge, excuse the duplicate posting)

I have a couple to show for a change .... they're not spectacular   :-\ but I feel like I am finding my lampwork feet again after taking a bit of a blow recently....I need to get back into the swing of things I think....

Thanks,

Gorgeous stuff ladies

Some from me then

These two beads are ready for electroforming, the next step (nerve racking) is to apply the electro conductive paint which costs a fortune by the way.
They look quite boring at the moment but I will show you the results and then see what you think, of course it might not work at all, we shall see.

This is the one door knob I have made, its not great and I shant be using it, but technically its fine, I just hate the design, trust me to try flowers, so easy to mess up.  Anyway I would recommend the make a doorknob kit to anyone and its fairly easy to do, I think.

I am into bicones at the moment, so here are a couple I have done this week, the second one has dots of fine silver around the middle which I am rather proud of.

Lastly a small focal

I made these beads on Monday (day away from the office), I don't normally post on here but here goes anyway, I have put these on a couple of other beading forums my apologies if you have already seen these.

These are made from Avocado, roof tile red, Ivory, some sort of trans green and fine Silver,

These focal beads are a mixture of glass and metals, Ask, Effetre and DH, metals are silver foil and copper, basically trying my hand at a few new things

Thanks for looking

Stuart

Okay....be kind...the results of my play session today :) The frog is only included as a laugh, I'm afraid it's crippled, and will probably have to be euthanised in the kiln...........

I am not sure what happened, I thought I had replied to this but it seems to be lost!

Eceryone has done a fantastic job, I am really impressed.  I have done a few rounds now and I'm really pleased with them and I have done some dots and some frit, but how on earth do you encase?  I tried and moved the whole bead!!!  And how do you do swirls?

I made my first bead in my own workshop/studio on Thursday and did everything in a rush!!!

I have signed up for photo bucket so I hope this is the right link!

The orange bead looks a bit like a squashed rose or spiral but I am wearing it with pride!!!

Shirley

I had a good play yesterday. Here are the results.

The first two sets use some of Sam's lovely frits over silver. The green focal is uses a twisty that I made. I love the depth of it. :)

I've made these today....

Josephine

Great work from everyone. That blue set is stunning Shirley. All those sets are pretty Caroline. Lovely colours in those beads Les, can't wait to see the focals.

Here is some jewellery I've been doing with the hearts and beads I posted a few weeks ago.

These are going on a new website promoting the work of artists from Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. If any of you west country bead/jewellery makers are interested let me know and I will send you the details.

Here are some 3/32 beads, which are unusual for me as i work on 1/16 mandrels, anywho

and here is the bracelet i made with the beads, a simply strand of leather which has been knotted together, no findings, just the leather, it is really soft and i just dont want to take it off!

Stacy

I'm not sure if the s&ts are just for beads so I hope its ok to put my recent work in here.

Haven't been up to much recently but did get this out today, I've been working on a couple of projects which are very time consuming so haven't been able to do much else. She/he/it really needs some antenae things!

I'm really loving all the work that has been put up already. I'm so jealous of your holow beads Becky and Josephines hearts are simply lush!!!
