[One Key Beads]

Lorna, I'm gobsmacked.  They're fabulous beads.

I've been to the seaside (in my dreams of course). 

With my own murrin, murrine, oh you know what I mean.




This may be my last for a while - oxycon has bit the dust and needs to see Doc Martin.

I couldn't resist making these beads into a something for myself, the first bracelet I've actually made since I started lampworking 5 months ago. I'm still learning to make jewellery too but I am so very pleased (at last) with myself. I am a very harsh critic of my own work so I hardly ever blow my own trumpet, maybe once or twice per decade. Anyway, these beads were inspired by a bracelet I bought from Anouk at Flame Off which I adore completely. It's Triton reduced and encased in clear and nothing else, just very simple. The picture doesn't show the gorgeous lustre of the triton as it shimmers in the light and as always it does look much nicer in real life. Hope you like it!!!

I've also made similar beads using Aurae with such varying results, some turning out almost white with a stunning mother of pearl iridescent shimmer, I think they too will be keepers. I will clean them up and post pics though I expect that the effect won't be captured in a photo. One can but try.....!

OK here's some of what I've been getting using Aurae encased in clear. The pics don't really show them as they are. They are much paler and less golden in colour, very much like mother of pearl, pale overall colour with a opalescent iridescent sheen similar to oil on water only paler. They are not easy to photograph but I hope I have captured some of the incredible lustre I'm trying so hard to explain!!
Apologies for repeating these images as I've put them in the 'Aurae' thread as well!

PS - I haven't cleaned them yet so ignore the grubby dimples!

As soon as i heard that Jolene had created a mojo box called Oceana, i knew i just had to try it out. I promised Jolene i would post the beads i made asap and so i have taken lots of pictures and i have added a description telling you what is contained within each bead.

They are a little larger than my others of this style at around 13-15mm hole to hole

Wow Lorna! I really like those beads, what an enormous stringer control! Moreover, I deeply respect people who have such a lot of patience to make a whole set of those incredible beads! Chapeau!

Love the dotties Sam, and those gorgeous boro hearts. The aurae bumpies are beautiful, it really is a lovely glass.  nearly forgot, Mindy I love all of those beads especially the top one.

An aurae pendant for my friends birthday.


Been trying to find a new style of pendants ready for my open studios in September. These were inspired by some Kim Miles beads that she posted on Beaders Showcase mixing organic bits like SIS with encasement, colours, flowers. Hopefully I've put my own twist on them (let me know if you think otherwise)...will be developing them further.

My first experiment of taking a photo of a bead on a mirror - I love the effect but must get a mirror without a frame lol Have used Sam's Faux Boro frit on this with goregous Aurae

I was teaching today but I've been bursting to show off what I got out of my kiln this morning!

This one started off purple but the Triton has fumed it green!  George taught me how to make the funky bail.
