I love the colours Suzanne, the beads turned out brilliantly!  I also looked at getting the same Ebook but I have been overspending on lampwork things lately (I went to the Flame Off) so I thought I would buy that one later.  I am obsessed with looking at kilns on the internet at the moment, not that I can afford to buy one yet, but I have all these different sites bookmarked and I'm researching which one is the best, so I'll be ready when I win lotto 

This is as far as I have got with my bead making, basic but colourful.....

Anyway what I wanted to say about it is that I remember not too long ago having a go at hearts and getting lumps, went back to it a few times, still lumps, had a go last week and what do you know, I can do hearts now. It's great to go back to things you once found impossible to discover you've developed the skills to do it. K xx

Oohhh... I'm excited! The first time for me to open a S&T Topic on FH!!!

This is a bead I made, again with homemade murrini (and a few from Anouk).
Yesterday I swapped it for a beautiful bead from Miriam, so now it can be seen in her beautiful studio, I'm so proud!!!

You might notice that the last beads top has been knocked off. That's because I feel onto it and the rest went into my hand. On the way I must have knocked the top off. I was on the phone to Sam at the time and I think I might have popped her eardrum when I screamed as I was in shock when I lifted my hand and had to pull out the tail from my palm!

Those colours are so intense, gorgeous. I've been trying out transparent base colours for a change, here are a couple of this weeks.

Okay please be gentle with me; I have lit my torch 4 times so far, and so have a lovely collection of wonky beads  

This lot survived the kiln last night, and I'm happy that i am starting to show a little progress; but boy am I finding it hard to make things the same size  

These are milk chocolate, pink and cream, I haven't managed to pick up the pink very well in my photo..

This one is mahoosive..hubby says it reminds him of a Fox's glacier mint...

Thanks for the Hair straighteners tip; I haven't got any mashers yet, Martin is out of stock; this lot was made with a marver and my breath held!

I love the floral bead, I find them really hard and the colours are fab

its me juuuuuliiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee   !!

I bought a fabulous press from Maria lousia and have had a wee play, only had an hour torching this morning   so just messed about.
the first one is a dobber and could do quite an injury lol at 21mm hole to hole.
i think it is going to take some practice using this press but I have sooooooo many ideas!

Kerensky - these are ivory with silvered coral stringer dots and stuff!! 


There was a question somewhere that mentioned what other colours could be 'silvered' - I tried coral and it left dirty shadows of reactions with the ivory - just playing really, but I actually quite like them.. they're not etched.  The larger one next to them in the 'nest' has a yukky grey swirl, that was copper green and I have now etched the swirl, but not the whole bead - I didn't want to damage the triton dots.

Helen, what a beautiful piece - I am so glad you are able to absorb yourself in the glass work!

Lorna, you are developing at such a pace and with such eye for colour and design, and with your amazing skill to go with, it is simply breath taking! Wonderful, wonderful beads!!

Sam, I read somewhere one should make 100 spacer beads in a row, one after the other, to develop eye for size and learn to control the glass in the flame. Your spacer beads look perfect!! And I love the subtle colours in the last sets.

Lush Julie, what can I say, I was admiring your cored pendants on Flickr - they are gorgeous!!
