I was challenged by a guy at work to make "the Very Hungry Caterpillar" - this was the result:

At the moment it's threaded on some cheap copper wire just to hold it together. I'd be grateful for ideas of what to use to thread it together so that it can be sort of played with a little. The body beads are doughnuts with pretty decent dimples (so modest!) but there are no dimples on the head. They've all been made on 2.4mm mandrels. I guess I need some sort of spacers - but only enough to stop the glass clashing together as it moves but not to visually separate the beads - and something to thread it that will allow movement (and if it could hold shapes that would be a bonus). But it doesn't need to go on a chain for anyone and I wouldn't want the bits that stick out each end to be obtrusive - especially the bit that will stick out the side of his head!

Lush!

I got my new big-mandrel marble press from Maria Louisa and cored my first bead with copper tube.  My son made my day by asking if he could have it, so I wrapped it round his neck quick!

Lesley: Your flowerbead looks just like a bouquet caught in glass, wow! The shellbead I can already picture in a beautiful marine necklace!
Trudi: I like the colours used in all of your sets but the last colour really intrigues me, do you mind sharing your secret with us?
Helen: Wow, that's a true masterpiece! Last week I had an introduction lesson and made a silver ring for my daughter but this is really advanced stuff!
Les: The first big hole bead??? Girl you've got talent! The first ones I ever made were more like triangels! Love the transparency in this bead!

I made a bead using my bigger lentilpress (which has been unemployed for so long), experimented a bit with enamel, very thin stringers and murrini:

Love, Karin

Lush!

Karin, that is a beaut, so much detail!

I cored another big big big hole bead - I'm still working on getting the silver to lie completely flat round the edge but I think its cos the bead hole is not quite true, this big press is not easy but definitely worth the effort I think!
