Leaky pen is also quite lush over dirty martini  ;)  and turquoise too!
Sounds lush - I will give that a whirl this afternoon if my Tuffnells order turns up soon and I can go out *taps foot*

She's made of real glass. She got real real emotion. But my heart laughs I have that same sweet devotion!

No it must be me, I've made three beads this morning with the torch, low, high in the flame and as normal like I usually do and they all have streaky brown marks all over them, I've done all three of these over white and I cleaned the glass well first so I will chuck it gently to one side and come back to it another time.

Sometimes that's the best way - you can try too hard sometimes!

Was that one I gave you, Katie?  I have used the same batch over white too and it was fine.

No I brought a bunch from Martin last week at the fair too, this is what I turned out this afternoon,  I can pull it in stringer and it comes out lovely, see other thread, but otherwise if I use it over anything or on its own this is what it looks like.  (this is over dirty martini) Its a bit dusty cause i've just pulled it out of the V.

That is nuts, I have never seen that reaction before, are you sure its leaky pen? Do you have any reduction trouble with effetre turq or rubino?

Katiequiggle

No not really I don't, I mean, sometimes turquoise goes a bit silvery in the flame but goes back to turquoise once its finished, occasionally it goes red but not often.  Rubinos pretty much ok too, Ive been making loads of beads in the last couple of days including white and clear and none of them are mucky.  Can I send you a stick Tan to see what you get.  Its def Cim Inky Pen, from Martin on Saturday, I have a pack of it wrapped in tissue paper with a label on it.

How about posting a pic on here of what a stick looks like?

BY all means I can try it for you but do put a pic up first though it might save you the trouble. I would say that if your torch was being an evil reducer you would definitely suffer with rubino, which after a process of elimination can only be the glass?

Here you go.

Made into Stringer.

On the bench with the label.

Held up to the light.

It looks like the photo on the bench without the light behind it, quite dark.
