I can't believe no one has started a new gallery so here's the next bauble,
It was made with transparent Spectrum red waterglass which has gone opaque in the flame. I also mixed in some clear waterglass.

I like the twisty marble Pat!
I keep wanting to have another go at marbles, not made any for years!

however, I have been busy instead making polar bears, chickens and penguins!

PS where is everybody????!!!!

Lotti

Very quiet this week, everyone must be busy with pre Christmas things.

Love the chocolate bauble Pat, it really does look like something nice to lick!

Fabulous Madeline, love the polar bear specially.

I don't often post to the gallery any more, mostly as I don't seem to get time to take photos, but although I am supposed to be getting stock levels up of beads, I have developed rather a marble (well boro generally) obsession and treated myself to a couple of hours marble making yesterday.  Can't seem to get good photos, but the light today of course is rubbish and I need to find/make some marble stands.  But a couple of things that came out of the kiln this morning (including a mushroom pendant, I love love love making these too!).

Biggest marble I have made so far, all of 25mm!!!!! ;)

Cannot get a good photo of this one :(

Can you guess what this is (or supposed to be ;) )

Lovely mushroom (might have to live with me ;) )

Another bauble, with a scrap of twistie around it.

It's a struggle to get pictures at this time of year!

I made these mini floral pendants

She's made of real glass. She got real real emotion. But my heart laughs I have that same sweet devotion!

Popped another one in, as it is quiet.
My first attempt at Boro off mandrel work.

I found another small stash of float ( window glass) cut into strips so decided to use it up with some float frit to make some simple marbles.
I've found that it's one of the benefits of doing a class like Di's recent one, it gives you more confidence to handle larger amounts of hot glass. I even managed to stop them rolling out of the bead door. I must have the kiln on a slight foreward slope.

mel

A first first-start for me. Still practising hollows, and other stuff.

Thanks to everyone on the Forum, you are all so generous with your ideas, and help.

I've made this for my Friend in Saudi Arabia,  hopefully customs will not stop it going through.  There are a few more Glass Stars to go on it, they are cooling in the kiln

An attempt at an imitation xmas tree,   not as good as I wanted it to be, but a combination of
Fusing Float glass and etching it for the tree
gold Fuming and Sandblasting some of the Beads

Happy Christmas to you all  :)

A couple more baubles. This one has a very badly shaped neck so I'll try to rectify it, hopefully without destroying the bauble. This next one is not too bad, Both are sitting on clear rings of glass for now.

I foolishly mentioned to a friend that I was thinking of making a glass robin so made an attempt this morning. His tail and wings need more work but I'm posting anyway and hope to change his rear at some stage. I initially made the wing area too large and had to cut some of the molten glass off hence the odd shape to the end of the wing area and tail.

I have to mention that the idea of putting a bird on a stand came from Sal's work putting seagulls on to Cornish pasties.
