Blue Kiln Beads

Pris your bead is stunning!  I love the shape it looks so tactile.
I managed a session at the torch last night.  I watched Laura Sparling's You Tube video about encasing so I am on a bit of an encasing frenzie.

The colours are more vibrant in real life but the light here today has been disappointing.

The Tartan Trout

Lovely start to the week everyone. I was asked to do a mouse for a spoon...I think he looks better on a cheese knife :) This is Marcel.

Lovely beads, Kathy!

I'd spotted the gorgeous BHB on Lampwork Etc. Peggy!
Love the mouse, Sarah, very cute :)
And that autumn set is scrumptious!

I've not posted here in ages, but was rather happy this worked on the first try:

Hee, he's great, Sarah!
Sabine, I love that.
Kathy: the snowball set are lovely.
Pris: lovely and HUUUGE!  :D

I've done a last-gasp bead for the reactive twistie and murrini exchange, and some of these are murrini for Carole. Plus a gremlin in ghee unique-1. Nom nom.

1. Not very successful: only notable is how clean the Lauscha turquoise stayed, what with silver glass and reducing.
2. Green Jellyfish bead, with elektra shards
3. Gremlin!
4. The reactive bead. Murrini are Lyr, which I've shown before but only on a test cab.

[Carole, if you're watching: the jellyfish bead has the Green Jellyfish murrini at the bottom left and right deeply encased - can't see them very well, and the Roof Tile murrini near the surface. So you see what I meant by messy! The turquoise bead has the Terracotta Golem murrini - they can show up a bit lighter than that under domes of clear]

These are ready to be turned into several wirework bracelets - just waiting a delivery of wire, oh and does anyone know where you can buy energy and hours in the day?  ;D ;D ;D

Its been a long long while since I did anything really new!  I made these buttons yesterday, inspired by the lovely cabs Julie HB showed us how to make on the Cab to Fab course with George.  Was that last year already?

thats a great first fish! have fun making lots of them!
beautiful colours Rachel!
the poppies are great, I had an idea for a poppy something too, but sadly I am way too disorganised at the moment, it may not come together in time. too many ideas, not enough time!

I made a bead like this at the Devon flameworkers meeting on Thursday

Treasure Map Focal Bead by madelinebunyan, on Flickr

Piccie time!

Last one of my reactive twistie exchange beads. They're now on their way to the US.

Mum's commissioned a pink necklace, so I broke out the Bullseye pinks to have a go with. Then the spacers are kalypso.

I'm having a thing for ceramic beads at the moment, so these are 'inspired by' ceramics. I got out a whole load of earthy colours and frit and enamels I haven't used in a while and messed about.

The first two pics are the same bead - it's a base of Lauscha chromium green, which has lots of teeny sparkles in it that you can see as you move the bead, but are tricky to photograph. (Yes, needs adding to the website - I have to photograph the rods!) I added iris gold frit and gravity swirled it.

Here's the others, collectively called Earthen.
