Yes, definitely the folklore beads and the chucks for me too, although everything is lovely so far.

As you know I've been playing with Astrid Reidel's murrini tutorial recently, amnd here is the bead I'm most proud of, mainly because it's HUUUge ( 50 x 40 mm), and I managed not to crack it.

A set from me using some of Kaz's wonderwall murrini. Surprisingly I resisted the usual urge to etch these beads...might change my mind later.

I made these a few days ago but I've just got hold of some funky rubber spacers to put with them.

The paintball beads are really effective on the black rubber...inspired combination.  Maybe Josephine could do another set and etch them to see what they would be like rather that risk spoiling those lovely ones?

I did a similar etched set back in November which I did etch. I thought I'd give the buyer the option to choose this time.

Me Julie, those O rings really work, you clever girl. I've been drooling at the beads sets on your Flickr too.

Today I had a play with a Bobcat and a Midrange, my first try at boro. I learnt not to encase it in Effetre Baby Blue by mistake

Lots of loveliness, love the marbles very much and love the etched set Josephine.  The boro beads look great Alison, would love to have a go at this one day.  Love those deck chairs too, great stringer control!

I have been playing with Miriam's tut on pink and think I might have cracked it ( ), (there is a bit of over reduction in this but it's not bad).  Thing is this is really quite big and have NO idea what to do with it (light pull - seems a shame really), it's 36mm high and 22mm in diameter at the fat end!  I do have difficulty doing these pink ones small!



Also another wheel (there are others but can't get decent photos), I misnumbered the dots so it isn't quite symetrical, but on a bit of suede it will be fine (I think), shame about the streaky red, but I know what happened, so won't do it again!



Finally a squashed pansy lentil.  Needs a bit more PPP on these (more petals for a start would have been good and not quite sure about the colours on this one), do enjoy making them though.

But Les, love that hare, so sweet.
As there have been a few Goddess Beads of late, thought I would try my heat control out, it has been ages since I did a goddess. So here she is.
Teal Base with enamels and shards 2 inches High.

Lovely goddess! I have to add to the praise for the chickens too, they are fab!

At Jo's open day Sue asked me about the Lauscha colours as bases for striking silver glass. I made these (and then wondered quite what I'd been thinking, because a little more planning of what I was doing would have given better results. But hey!)

The lentil trio are Luna 2.1 over caramello and Effetre black. It struck to purple really fast over the caramello and I didn't try to make it go any further. Over the black it has some greens and blues (and a little beige). I should really have done an encased one too.
Next one: caramello base, streaks of Luna and encased. Amber purple result again! I put kalypso on the ends and some of my murrini.



This is a caramello base, raked streaks of Effetre black and Pandora.



And this 'un is caramello and cocoa as the base, with lines and caps of StrikingColor LGFS. Tricky one to strike, this, and it went a lot darker in the kiln too, so I have little hints of other colours and quite a lot of brown. I like it anyway.

Lentils and stringer are my nemesis so I need to practise more and more.  Happily this primitive design actually benefits from uneven stringer application, thats my story, and I'm sticking to it!  These were inspired by holidays with my son's in-laws in South Africa and worked from a tutorial by Anne Ricketts.

Blimey, some stunners here this week, love the Goddess bead Rita  

I've been back on buttons, kick started by a nice etsy order and although the colours are a little on the dull side, I'm happy with this one as it's the first go at a new design with hearts around
