pearl biege help.

I bought some Rich. pearl biege and made a couple of tester beads and cooled them in bubbles. They were a lovely pale colour.
After annealing they were a dark mink colour!

I made 2 more beads and put them straight in the kiln, and they too ended up much darker, like a mink colour!

Is this supposed to happen with the pearl biege?

Happened to me last week, Shirl.
I have a set of streakies ranging from pale pearly to dark honey-ish.
They look nice though

Mine are always the same coming out as going in? Sorry hon, I'd love to be able to help. Perhaps it's something to do with your flame chemistry?

I bought some of this at FO but only tried it last week. I've used nearly all of it and not had that happen to me. I think it is a new favourite for me.

Nope me neither, used mine this week, goes in and comes out the same colour when annealed.

I only bought mine a couple of weeks ago....wonder if its a rogue batch?

I really wanted the pale biege as its gorgeous so am feeling a tad dissapointed

I'm working on a batch I bought around the same time Shirl - and no problems. Are you coming to the end of your propane perhaps?

Must be same batch/time as I bought mine.
As much as I like the streaky effect, I bought mine on the strength of Jeannie's lovely beads with the blue murrini (shown some 3/4 wks back, I think).
None of my beads came anywhere near to the lovely colour she achieved with her Pearl Beige

No....I am not near the end of my propane, only had a new bottle on a few weeks ago.

What puzzles me is that is was a lovely pale colour after cooling in the bubbles. It went into the kiln a few days later and came mink, quite a nice clour but I didnt really want mink.

I have just made another little pearl to test again and put it in the bubbles, it looks really pale up to now.

I've been puzzling over this all day....
What sort of beads are you making with the beige?
I have been wondering in my case if I had 'overworked' the delicate colour.
I made my set with a ridged bead roller and it WAS the first week using my Cricket, so everything taken into consideration, in MY case I think it's me.
It's too late tonight now, but tomorrow after work, I'm going to get the Pearl Beige out again.
The possibilities are too great to let it beat me.

I just made 2 small test beads with no other colours, and I also made 2 simple BHB with 3 little surface flowers, nothing fancy.

Something to do with your kiln? Do you use activated charcoal? Was there silver glass in the kiln too? I'm not sure if these things would make a difference with this glass, you may need to do a bit of experimenting

There was activated charcoal and silver glass with the first one on the batch anneal

The second ones that were put straight in the kiln there was no charcoal and perhaps some silver glass.

I just looked at the one I made tonight, its just out of the bubbles and a beautiful creamy colour.
