I must order more frit soon :)

Champagne Rain - love this frit

Bea's Bonnet

popped them in the Gallery as well so apologies if you have already seen them :)

Purplicious

I bought a couple of Bead Shapers from Bev last weekend in Manchester and promised her that I would post the first beads I made with them (sorry the photos aren't great, but there wasn't much daylight today!):

These are CiM Eggplant, Sherwood, Atlantis and Rainforest

These are CiM Dirty Martini with Val Cox frit Purple Rose - I'm really pleased with these, as they have a nice antiqued appearance.

Did I mention how much I love my bead roller?? I'm saving up for more! ;D

I am worried that people dismiss little beads. "just a spacer"  :'(

But I really love making them. So not surprising I have so many.
I worked out that it takes me roughly 5 minutes to make and clean each one. And that is when I make several on one mandrel.
I hate to think how much time my sorted box represents  :o

I also love the flexibility they give to a finished piece of jewellery when used en-mas in a bead weaving style.

This is my most costly etsy item so far. I wonder if it will sell? eek! But it was just too lovely not to offer up to customers.

Tiny beads. The possibilities are endless.

Most of mine are gone to live with friends or unfinished.  Here are some of my uncompleted tiara small beads,  the model was very unhelpful.(not my lovely husband)

OK, I had a good ole play at the weekend, what fun! I think I'd better do these as separate posts.... ::)
;D

This is First Love over clear and encased:

The bead on the right does indeed have an incompatibility crack. Why? Well, First Love contains Fuschia Pink, tricksy on a Hot Head. You can see that the cracked bead is darker, well I worked it a bit hot (lower reaches of the flame) and marvered it several times before encasing. As a result, the Fuschia reduced and this is what has caused the crack. I kept the left hand bead further out in the flame, melted it slower and only marvered it twice before encasing. Problem solved!
The paddle has some silver on it, Val doesn't reccommend silver with this blend as it can cause black lines around the pinks and oranges, but I tried it anyway in the name of scientific research.. It does cause black lines, but I didn't find it too bad.

These are bea's Bonnet over Reichenbach Gold Ruby Bright and left as surface decoration:

The peach has a tendancy to blacken if over worked, so if on a HH melt it slowly in the outer reaches of the flame and don't mess it around too much!

This is Limerick over clear (that was wrapped in silver foil whch I burned off):

Limerick has green aventurine sparkliness that spreads out and just looks wonderful under encasement:

This is Boro Bora, over clear (which has been wrapped in silver foil and burned off) then encased:

You can just see hints of the boro like effects this method can give you, here's some close ups:

Yes, the close ups are from the same beads above. I think if I had played a bit more before encasing I'd have had more wispy boroness!

Those fruit pastilles are fantastic.

I am tempted to repost these now.

Made on a 1mm mandrell, the smallest I have that doesn't melt through in the flame.

I think Rio Nights and me are going to be very happy together  ;D
