Double Helix for HH or Kiln?

OK, since I cant wait any longer I'm compiling my shopping list for flame off. I promised myself a 1/4 of double helix (cant get too much as would rather save up for big girls torch...) and I was wondering which double helix is HH friendly? liked Aurae, have tried a couple of rods but nothing amazing...or would i be best to go for a kiln striker like pandora or nyx? any thoughts very much appreciated thanks x

Triton, as well as Aurae, is very easy to reduce, and work beautifully on a HH.

Psyche gave me best results when I used a hothead. Triton should be ok too.

Nope  im too much of a wimp, and i cant figure out how to cover the holes without burning my hands off!

I'm a Hothead user and thoroughly recommend Triton, Aurae, Ekho and Psyche   Can't really go wrong with any of them although Ekho's a bit trickier than the others

Tinfoil! Get a long piece (I folded mine in half lengthwise so it's thicker), wrap it round and use the tails as a handle to pull it up and down over the holes. You can fold the edges over a little too after wrapping so it all stays together better.

I love TAG Taxco from off-mandrel, works really well on the HH

I've heard that some people just use an oven mitt to cover holes but I use a piece of A4 paper folded lengthways 4 times and kitchen foil folded around it. The paper insulates a bit from the heat and because of the foil, it stays in the shape of your HH for easy use

Ha! Paper? I haven't ever used paper in the middle, I'll try that next time, thanks!

yep i used the tin foil for reducing aurae, simples! how about you try them tomorrow gemma and let me know?!
