beads-on-toast

Hi guys

Here are the very first beads of 2008 for me, i love dichroic he he

and something a little less spangly

not sure whether to etch these or not...hmmm

julieHB

Those beads are stunning, Anna!  Did you do all of them last night???

I should maybe not post my last efforts here, as it is not beads, and technically they were made before midnight last night......you seem like such a friendly and forgiving lot that I'll do it anyway  :)

I have been playing a bit with combining fused glass and silver clay the last couple of days, and have made two "prototype" rings.  Haven't done too much of that in the past, but as they say, practise makes master...

When I saw the pictures I realised that I really need to start using a hand moisturiser on a regular basis - would that count as a New Year Resolution??.........and with that, I wish you all a Very Glassy New Year!!

I love your winter warmer, Pam, and Anna, your amber dichroic is particularly scrumptious (I seem to be on a brown trip  ???)

The first one isn't mine, it's another one of Jolene's, but she never took a picture of it before posting it to me, silly girl, so I'm the proud owner of this beauty:

(Jo  :-*, you can find two views of it on my Flickr - thesparrowinflight - does it have a name??

And I've been trying and trying to encase...this is my happiest attempt - if only the twisty hadn't bled, I'd have liked it even more!

Some fantastic beads on here, Anna your dichroic is amazing, especially love the amber one, Jolene, your mum is very lucky, love the purple bicone and your winter warmer Pam.

I've been busy, my sisters new shop is opening next week, she asked for as many turquoise and Ivory I could make and also for some goddesses for the "earth mothers" in Lancaster.

Been using my new large press I got for my Birthday,

my first serious attempts at goddesses,

modified..Ivory not amber...doh

So many gorgeous beadies on here, Jolene that first one is fabulous, I love what you are doing with clear and also the one you sold, love em.
Anna - you are just getting so good with the dichro, beautiful, pity mine all goes to mush >:(
Pam - fantastic, we see your beads at last and they are great, hope we are going to see loads more, your encased flower is excellent.
Ingrid - love the turquoise lentils and brilliant goddesses (and they look like goddesses, my first ones never did)

Hope I haven't missed anyone out - all gorgeous stuff.

Another "pleat" bead as promised, I am getting the technique a bit but colours are hard to figure out, hence its a bit dull, on this one I used mustard with trans cobalt and trans turquoise on a base of pale aqua, looks completely different to how I expected though??? Got to figure these out a bit more.

Also a couple more from me, sorry for the wonky photo of the first one.

Everyone is gifted, its just that some leave the wrapping on longer than others

Gorgeous set Kathy, as everyone else is saying, they just look so sparkly and fresh.

I have been experimenting again,  first an arrow bead, the only one I have made so far, so not great, also I used Kronos and then the propane turned the white yellowish.

Another pleat bead, this one has better colour but I got a bubble in the encasing which has spoiled it, grrrrrr......

Sorry for rubbish photos, hurrying too much.

Saffie - I especially like the first bead, such great colors!
Sarah - great blues and greens in these beads!

I made some more triangles and pleats.

And a black venus - but I am afraid she looks rather like Pam Anderson - not really to my liking  >:(

My first show'n'tell!

The last 3 evening I've had a go at making layered triangle beads. :)
First picture I struggled with the encasing ...second picture I thought I got  the hang of IT ....but the beads do look like they have been in "tonic water". Thought to call them Schweppes! ;D ;D
