trying to recreate a bead I like with soft white

I like the bead in the middle of the row near the bottom of this picture. I am reasonably sure I have got the right glass, soft white, a dark red and transparent black. The beads on the kebab have been annealed.  I've tried all manner of flame adjustments and stiking to get that rusty colour.  Any ideas?

Try a stringer of Ornela Ivory instead of the soft white (what colour and make is that?) - to me it looks just like that every time!

It's Effetre 208.  I'll have a play with some other colours to see if I can get what I am after without the hit and miss element.   Thanks for your help.

Ah, anice white! Is your red opaque or transparent? I get those reactions mostly with opaque reds.

If you are looking for the rust colour to the red perhaps try turning your propane up a bit.

I had another go today after referring to Kimberley Adams in The Complete Book of Glass Beadmaking.  She advised turning the propane up to melt in the stringers.  This made the line in the middle of the white wider and more grey looking.  I think it must be something to do with reducing / striking, I just have not found the right balance yet. Thanks for your help.
