Sarah, which glass is it you are using ??

Claire, Pandora is yummy ... just make sure as far as possible that it goes into the kiln a transparent green like the rod is. I work it very quick and very hot and then simple encase and get it in the kiln. If i make pandora beads as the first beads i do so they get maximum time in the kiln they strike on my normal schedule. ...will go dig out pics

ok back with pic, just taken so im sorry its fuzzy and terrible, the focal is before i learnt it prefers to be more transparent colours when going in the kiln, the little beads after i worked that out. they have quite a bit of purple in and are quite pretty. they had about 4hrs in the kiln less or more gives different colours but thats an experiment for when i have more time lol  ;D hth anyhow

Ok I'm using Terranova 2 at the moment. and actually having fun now I seem to be getting some colours from a DH glass at long last. I think the trick is heating the snot out of it. I've managed to get shiney colours from Nyx and Gaia but that's about it so far.

I tried TNT on ivory the other day and got poo brown dots where un-encased, and very subtle greeny pinks under bubble dots, but I'd like to achieve colours here also. How do you heat the snot out of a bead with shape and a set pattern without loosing it all?

this is very tempting as it was one of Her tuts that helped me get colours at last.  :)

to heat the snot out of silver glass decoration on a different colour base you dont want to mis shape, I turn my torch down and spot heat just the silver glass till it goes clear

silverlemon

hmmm, I tried that the other day and just got the muted colours, unfortunately they didn't go with the main part of my bead. I'll post a pic later. well, all my results. lol

I've been eyeing this up!!

I've only had patchy colours with Pandora. With TN2 it's a bit variable (prefer it on the surface so far), but with Terra I heat it hot, let it get brown, then encase. The encasing acts as the striking reheat. If that makes sense!

Pandora does not appreciate being encased with Lauscha clear!!!

silverlemon

I got purple and blue and green with hints of pink and red and orange!  ;D
yay, TNT2 rocks!
I encased a small donut with Laucha this time, heated the snot and struck bit by bit. Much better with the Laucha as it doesn't scum when superheated.
Will get Dickie to do some pics.

Ok here's my pics as promised.

The middle set is TNT2 some on clear and a couple on amethyst.

The top and bottom set are encased.....the top one with Laucha, no bubbles, the bottom one with Vetrofond crystal clear....bubble fight!
