CIM Leaky Pen - Pitting

I just adore this colour - superb dark blue - and when I use it to decorate it's beautiful and fine. But If it use it in most of the bead it pits like mad!! I can see it sparking in the flame and the end result looks naff!! After a tip on a different thread I used it to encase turquise - but oh boy, it was darn gone and pitted!

Does anyone have any tips to work it please?

I posted in another thread that it boiled on me.
I ended up etching the set I made with it

when I use it if I don't melt it in the top of the flame it does that trudi, so either we've all got the same dodgy batch, or thats just what it does

I had another rod too Colette - thought I'd try another one - but it's the same!! I must have missed your post - any tips??

And how did the etching go?

Vicki - I thought of that too - In Sarah Hornik's book she says it's a spreding colour like Rubino - so I put it higher up - still no joy!

Mine boils too. It does seem to like being worked high up in the flame...

it is workable though, you just can't allow yourself to forget & slide down the flame or you've lost your bead to the sparkley burn

I made a couple of spacers a few days ago and it was fine ?    I got a couple of rods in a mixed bunch from Hamilton Taylor

Perhaps more luck than judgement, then !!

the spacers I made were fine, just the bigger beads weren't

Mine boils too - I know that's no help, sorry! But I am used of having my torch on full frontal attack, so I know I burn things easily!

I have my oxycon at 3 1/2 generally - a bit cooler than some, I think? - and it still bubbles.
