My cim clockwork orange went clear

I used my one rod of cim clockwork today and made several small beads and one large one with pumpkin dots. the big one is a lovely colour but the small ones have gone almost clear transparent, with only a very slight trace of orange in them.
What have I done wrong? To much heat? To low in the flame? If any one out there could explain I would be gratefull.

I used the red one, is it bordello? I made a set & wanted spacers, I got a few red ones, but they varied from yellow-orange mostly, I thought maybe the longer i worked it the darker they got, but I don't know, there didn't seem to be a pattern to it...they looked lovely together though, all the different colours

Ill look forward to what they have to say. Just so I can not do it again. If I want clear spacers Ill make them with clear glass.

I had exactly the same result from my Clockwork orange, and it looked so lovely too!  Mine ranged from dark orange nearly red to virtually clear!  I blamed my inexperience and my hothead, then my cats and anyone else who came near me that day!!!

Nice to know its not just me then.
Was it anything to do with size?
My big one is the same colour as the rod, but the little ones are clear.
I also added some as dots over the pumpkin and again it looks clear. I liked the look but not what I was expecting.
It is a gorgeous colour in the rod.
And the bordello is too Vicky. I used bordello with Gellys sty and Blush. I liked it lots.

i have had similar with Sangrie (the red one!!!) the more glass you use the less transparent it is. I also use a little white as a core to put the red over!!!

Are they striking colours a lot of the oranges seem to be, it can be a lovely effect, try making a bead, letting it cool a bit and then flashing it back in the flame, if it is striking you will see the colour come into it, otherwise it could be that the anneal temp is too high, I think Corina published an annealing chart on her site

when i went to see dizzy di at the weekend she showed me clockwork orange spacers that she had done,
some of those were clear!

I think Corina sent out the chart in her email when she was complaining about the pink beads she had made which had cracked. It seems that CIM colours have different annealing temps

They do which is a bit of a major problem if your combining colours

Not sure how to insert a link but found this by googling cim annealing temps so if it doesn't work you can always cut and paste in your browser - the thread also mentions that some colours need striking ( don't think clock work was around) not sure what to do now as I like cim and I like to mix colours

I've had the same problem, mine went clear, too !
