What's the best behaved transparent red (not pink red like rubino, but plain red)? I can't get the striking effetre reds to behave, either they don't strike properly or they turn murky :P Sometimes both at once - one bit won't strike and another bit has already turned murky ??? So are there any easier transparent reds out there?

I'm trying to pull complex stringer with transparent red in it, which makes it even harder to get it "just right" in the end :-\

I love Cim Sangre, it does need striking but I find it strikes quite easily

Me too  - but in larger beads it does tend to go opaque!

- one of the new CiM reds is also supposed to be nice, but I've not got my hands on them yet!

Maraschino - is lovely but is opaque

Maraschino is my best ever red

My favourite transparent was/is a Reichenbach 104 just labelled transparent red - I used it for spacers and mourn the day I got down to my last 1/2 rod, it's fondled lovingly and promised friends but so far I've been unable to find anything quiet like it  ::)

Thank you for the suggestions :) According to my list I actually have some CIM Sangre. Now I just have to locate it in my rod shelf... I buy more glass than I have time to try out ::)

Where can I buy Lausha?

In a stringer you are always going to have trouble getting a transparent red to show up, specially the striking ones.  I would try Effetre Light Red 591428......if you are going to thin it down it has a slightly translucent quality.
