i have been trying to make the little critters that might be in a garden,
an owl,

a snail,

and a group shot with a mushroom and ladybird,

hope you like them, i had fun making them Smiley

Gaynor, have a go with round nosed pliers, http://www.kernowcraft.com/products/silversmithing-and-tools/pliers-wire-cutters/jewellers-pliers-C160/  but any cheap pair will do. They are good for the fins of fish too or angel wings.

Or you can just use a knife, like I did for these
