I don't think I have ever posted any of my fused glass work on here, if I have it was a very long time ago so I thought I would post something and see what you think.

She's made of real glass. She got real real emotion. But my heart laughs I have that same sweet devotion!

Nicknack

All gorgeous so far this week, specially Kaz, Gay, Rita, Sarah, Regis and Nikki.

Here are my efforts - my first ever slump, a soap dish, not a good photo, sorry!

It won't win prizes, but here's my latest effort:

swirl dish final by sleepychamaeleon, on Flickr

It's a dish to put wet things on in the bathroom, and matches our tiles.

I made a modelling clay original, I think I need to get some proper clay for a smoother finish.
Castalot is supposed to be re-usable, but I couldn't get the finished dish out of the mould even though I had fired it and Primo'd it; I had to chip it away. Maybe the moulded parts were too much for it - or perhaps I didn't manage to get rid of all the undercuts after all!

I was terrified that the mould would break and fill my kiln with molten glass - so relieved when the cooling cycle clicked in!  :)

Amber

No new gallery yet? Where is everyone  8)

I'll start then...not made much lately due to an absent mojo, but here are a couple;

TheJanie

Ooh Amber, they're lovely!  I particularly like the bottom one - gorgeous colours :)

I finally sat down to make something with my Rainbow Tie-Dye murrini that wasn't just a test piece...

Josephine

Its a quiet week! .... but everything is beautiful so far.

Apologies if you have already seen these on FB but I have an acorn vessel and my first successful hollow bead set, destined to be a necklace.

Mmm, I like the acorn vessel, lovely colours.

I've been making stuff from an old bottle again; somehow making lots of bumpy beads with this particular bit of glass just feels right. I've made myself a bracelet:

What lovely work so far but WHERE IS EVERYONE???
Rita, beautiful bracelet. Josephine, what an amazing vessel. Kathy, lovely beads, great bracelet.
Here's my offering for the week, the glass is P&T lilac and looks completely different IRL.

I'm always so impressed with the work in the gallery.  I didn't know you could melt bottles!  Craziness.

Today I'll share something of my own - I was practising making encased bubbles?  (don't know the technical term) so I thought for fun (after being disappointed with most of my beads) that I'd make an owl for my son, with whom I'm reading Harry Potter at the moment.  I'm so pleased with him!

AnnaSpanna

Oh heavens am posting in a gallery again.... it's been a verry long time. Anyway back to basics with frit and encasing for me!
