I'm pretty sure I kept some avocado, but I can't check for another 10 days or so. I think Kay had some from me though.

I had some avacado, though I know I swapped what I had left, it does seem to be similar.
Certainly not lichen, you would see the core in that.

This glass definitely didn't have any hint of green in the rod form, was a bit like kalypso but more red than that.  I think I got it from Billie in a swap, but she doesn't seem to come on here anymore.  Whatever it was I really like it!

Is it lime sweet? It looks grayish red in the rod and opacifies to pastelly colour?

I considered that, but lime sweet/light red jasper also strikes back to reddish and I'd have thought there'd be a hint of that on pressed beads  ??? It's not really green unstruck, either.

My rods of that are opaque grey with a hint of red on the outside and have a small core of either red or yellow.

I don't think it's that, and it definitely isn't cosmic storm. Avocado seems likely.

Looks like one of the early vetofond odds to me - and I'd tend to avocado or river rock but I don't think that was reddish in the rod. I only had one rod though so my memory may be gone. And I'd be surprised if Billie was willing to swap it as that was indeed rocking horse poo.

I'll have a look in the shed over the weekend as I have lots of the odds - I'm thinking lichen too as I think that was translucent like kalypso. Its definitely not one of the jaspers/sweets. The other option is one of the "no lots" which Q gave away with orders. If its one of those then I think you may be out of luck as they weren't named but were mixed bundles. They were very thin rods and in all sorts of earthy colours.

Was the rod shocky?

You lot are all amazing - even if I never find out what it is, I'll treasure the fact that you've all gone to so much trouble to try and identify it for me.

Sarah it wasn't at all shocky.  When I first melted the end I thought it was cream, but then when it was against the ivory I realised its a soft green.

Guess I'll keep the beads and try and match them to something else, is the lichen or avacado available anywher does anyone know?

Thanks again for wracking your brains for me. x

I have been out for a look, and don't have Lichen. I do have 1 & 3/4 rods of a khaos looking oddlot with a greenish tinge down the middle and 5 rods of Avocado.

GaysieMay

Do you want to do a swap Ilona?  Or I'm happy to buy some off you, if you've got any of the avacado to spare?  :)

You are joking aren't you - do you think we could pass up an excuse to browse glass websites, rummage through our stash etc all in a "good cause"  ;D

Any possibility that is could be a version of Effetre copper green?
