You're all scaring me... I made a big set of beads using Cranberry the other day (last one I showed in the gallery I think). None of the beads are broken yet but I might wait a little before I put them up for sale.

It could well be a batch issue.

As you know Sue, I had big problems with cranberry and cracking, it turned out to be my particular batch and although my latest batch is fine, I'm very nervous about selling beads I've made using it  :-\

If you need pictures of cracked beads from me then let me know, it'll be interesting to see what they say.

When did you get your batch Helen?  I bought mine around a year ago, one lot from Frantz and the other from Tuffnells a couple of months before.  Would they be the same batch do you think?  :-\   I think it's probably best to send as many photos from different people as possible.  If you send them to my email I can forward them from there, or shall I just direct her to the thread?

I have found with this that the beads generally show some sign of problems within a day or two, not sure about everybody else, but that seems to be the rule of thumb with this one?

I got 5kg of it about 6-8 weeks ago. It is a darker shade than the batch I got before.

Hopefully your batch will be problem free, if it is a batch problem ... 5 kg?  :o  Blimey, and I thought I had a glass habit!   :D

My batch could have been 3 years old as I had a lot of it and it was only when I got the bottom 12 rods of my pile did I start to have problems. I got it from Tuffnells.

That's no excuse ..  :D  How can you bear to let it go?!!

Sounds like me and my hand-dyed embroidery silk - I buy it in 50 yard hanks and skein it up - I love when a delivery arrives - especially when there are new colours  ;)

I have some CIM Cranberry - I don't use it very much (I'm too mean) but I'm not aware of having any problems with it - picked up at FO last year I think.

I remade my focal in identical fashion but dropping the Kugler for a desert pink base - same cracking and crazing  :'(  I feel like giving up.  :(

Have you tried pink lady, I use it instead of rubino.

The quicker I let it go, the quicker I can place another huge order! :-P

Anyway, there are still no cracks in my Cranberry beads. Maybe the latest batch is ok?
