Probably not much help, but mine is my old kitchen table! Nice and deep.

I have Ikea kitchen worktop in my workshop, it's 60cm deep, ie that far from the wall.

Mines Ikea worktop too - £5 from the clearance area ;)

Mine's a kitchen trolley from ikea.  It has wheels one end so I can push it out the way (I work in the kitchen) - It's 100cm and topped with patio tiles...  ;D

One Key Beads

Mines a six foot long workbench by about 2ft6 deep.  It came built in as part of my potting shed, but I also have a piece of aliminum (sp) to protect the window directly in front of the torch.  It has lots of space and light and works a treat.  Even space for my furry helper to have a sleep while I play.

Grab all the space you can, you'll grow into it.

mines a standard desk from argos  ;D I use glass kitchen worksaver panels, one laid flat in front of the torch and one standing upright in front to protect the wall :)
