Thankyou so much for sharing that with us all Julie, you make it look so easy!
I've just had a play with TP and silver wire - I can't wait to see the results in the kiln tomorrow mornig.

So Julie, does the TP actually need silver to strike then?  Is it not possible to strike it on its own?  I got some with my Tuffnell's order last week and will have a play soon - but too hot for me this evening!

Hmm, that's a good question actually, Anthea.  I shall have to investigate ...

*coughs* I've had it strike on it's own. Mainly because I thought that's what you did  ::) and haven't tried silver with it.

Rapid cooling, like with a press, seems to help.

(sorry to hijack Mrs F!)
NB. Do not touch hot rods of glass, it is stupid.

I made some plain TP beads tonight, they are in the kiln and they struck without any silver :)
