So Julie, does the TP actually need silver to strike then?  Is it not possible to strike it on its own?  I got some with my Tuffnell's order last week and will have a play soon - but too hot for me this evening!

Hmm, that's a good question actually, Anthea.  I shall have to investigate ...

*coughs* I've had it strike on it's own. Mainly because I thought that's what you did  and haven't tried silver with it.

Rapid cooling, like with a press, seems to help.

I made some plain TP beads tonight, they are in the kiln and they struck without any silver
