Gold stone gone funny green ?

 ???Just got my nortel set up at last,so have been in my shed messing with my stuff tried to encase some goldstone but its gone a horrible green am i heating it too much thanks Parin.

Hi parin, goldstone goes green when it is in contact with silver. Were you using silver leaf or wire or silver glass in the beads? You want to try and work it quite cool, or the sparkle will burn out, but overheating shouldn't make it green. If you really want to use goldstone with silver, try making an encased goldstone stringer so they don't have to come into direct contact with each other.

I think so, it kind of looks like verdigris (sp?) Copper. Effetre black rolled in silver leaf then on golstone frit is quite cool! X

It has probably gone green because you have may have heated it very strongly and with an oxygen rich flame? Try going slower and having the flame slightly reducing - a little more propane and slightly bushy on the candles. 
You may not have had this trouble before on the hothead as that is a slightly reducing flame anyway.
