Testing Vetrofond Odds

I've been sent a few of the Vetrofond Odds that Tuffnells are now stocking to test, and I had my first play this week, following a query about Moss Agate in another thread.

I haven't been very adventurous with it yet, just tried it on its own really but its very dark.

This little lentil was half Moss Agate Odd and half Moss Agate Pale Odd. I think the Pale is at the bottom and looks a bit streakier but there's really not much difference between the two.

Sorry about the fuzzy pic here, I think my camera prefers bright colours! I tried encasing the Moss Agate, etching it and putting it over white - but it's still ... dark!

Next up is Ocean Blue Odd, a really pretty pale transparent blue, similar to Effetre 052 or Marine Wave I think. I've shown it here on its own, and etched, and in a lentil with Cream Odd.

This is Orange Punch Odd with Cream Odd. Nice and bright, not particularly streaky.

Apricot Jam Odd is very streaky and organic (here with DH Aion) - its also VERY shocky!

I love the Cream Odd, its a nice flat cream colour, not very streaky and so far I haven't found it to be reactive. Unfortunately I've used my whole rod so I can't try anything else with it for now, but I'll definitely be buying some of this.

Gorgeous Julie, and I'm especially loving the apricot jam! Orange punch looks good too, thanks for testing them!

Lovely, liking that cream and ocean blue especially.The orange punch is quite dingy! I only ever tried the moss agate as a stringer so never realised it was so dark on its own.

Am loving Orange Punch! I wish I'd bought that instead of Apricot Jam, mine (Apricot jam) turned out a similar hue to your heart, but my bead was utter pants! I expected it to be more ... well apricoty/orange. It's too caramelised/brownish for me.

Did they send you any Banana Cream? That's an interesting one, pinky yellowy.

Hmm, I prefer Slytherin, I know its very dark but its transparent so quite versatile.

They're colours that came out weird

Possibly mixing leftover stuff together to see what would happen, possibly a standard colour that didn't come out right this time. Because of that they're limited edition and can't really be repeated, but the manufacturers have discovered we all buy them anyway!

Brilliant, Thank you, Odd colours I can cope with, odd behaviour?? Not so sure, still recovering from my experience with my white rods!!
