Big mess up on his face this evening. Eyes melted in too fast as I wasn't paying attention. (dinner was ready and Paul was scoffing his making yum yum noises  )
No fingers, eyes still dodgy but I did make his head a bit bigger and his tail is up this time. And he has nose holes.

Loads of work still but at least the shape is regular.  Chunky legs are something to think about too, both sides need to be even with no chlll marks.

Actually not many tools are used in making these dinos. I like to use gravity.   Thankyou Mr Hyde for that tip

Thought I'd start us off this week with some I made at the weekend.

I love this green set.


This is a set of big holed beads I made for a friends birthday. Made a little leather bracelet for them to go on.


And this is a little mushroom thimble though  I've noticed from the close up photo that its cracked from living in my hand bag for a couple of weeks.

I like your mushroom 

I've been making BHBs and playing with Bev's BHB multi-roller.

I am still not good at making non-pressed beads with silver glass. I suspect it's still an encasing issue, because I don't manage to round them off without getting them too hot. Marvered or pressed I can get decent results from.

First is aurae splodges over an MCD base. I've mostly lost the iridescence. Second is a cylinder made of atlantis with murrini and MCD dots. 3rd is rather hilarious... Inside is triton over what I think is carrot red. I didn't cover it to the edges and it was hard to see when it was hot. Reduced, encased, got too hot when shaping so I added some of my bigger triton murrini to the top and dot encased them. By this point the bead was rather huge. The murrini look nice, shame about the rest! I had to round it in a doming block because it was too big for anything else.



First is dirty martini with Kaz's green onions frit, encased. Second is a striking terracotta base with various purple frit and SIS on top. It's supposed to be nuggety, but I possibly didn't emphasise that enough and just made it look uneven. The last is stoneground with dense lilac rose frit. Question is whether to etch it, since there's a fair bit of devit.



Floral BHBs. My frit stringer devitted a bit on the second one.



This is a twistie test - I've been making some on and off for the swap.



Biiiig BHBs. The dotty ones are on a 12mm mandrel, and the flower on a 9mm. The multicolour dark dotty one was the first 12mm I tried and I'm pleased at how even it came out. Most of its layers aren't visible because I made them too thin, but it's a lot less wobbly than the first 9mm one I did. I am really pleased with the big aqua one.




And these are orange and CiM sherwood. I'm trying to make a bracelet for my sister-in-law and it's a tricky colour combination for me! So I'm still working out what to do.

What a fab start to the week. Lovely big hole beads Katie and Kalorlo and twisties! The pale frit set by Lejjewellery- is it rosatto, its so soft and feminine. The lentils are fab Saga Suus. Happy bead Christina, and I love all your face beads Les.

I've been playing with more frit blends this weekend.
