What temp does the kiln have to be to make a broken bead slump into a cab?

I didn't think that would work because of the bead release....

Probably a daft question - but why would the bead release matter? If I put the 2 halves of a broken bead, one that split down the mandrel, on kiln paper on the floor of the kiln, and heated it to ? temp, would the glass not slump into nice cabs? Ever hopeful.

Cant help with temp but as far as i know you have to clean the bead as normal then slump .

We use a bullseye fuse cycle which goes upto just over 800 DegC. Don't leave the temperature up there too long or the glass will de-vitrify. There are plenty of fuse cycles available on the net.

The bead release has to be thoroughly cleaned first.

ive never had any issues fusing as long as the bead release has been cleaned off first. if u do with the bead release still on u just get a big old mess of glass with bead release bits everywhere in it!

i just use a normal full fuse cycle with a shorter hold time
