I went to a lampwork day last week and learnt a little bit more!  The one thing that did make me wonder though was the teacher annealed her beads using vermiculite in a warm slow cooker.  Will that do the same job annealing them in a kiln or is it to cool them down slowly?

It won't anneal them, it will just prevent them from cooling down too quickly. They'll have to be annealled later on.

Yeh.. Sal's right there.. that's just cooling.. not annealing.. If only it was that easy eh ??

Wishful thinking on my part I think!  Never mind.

Not that I'm able to get anything annealed - haven't had time to play for ages and May is looking bad already!
