Hi Manda,

The first handmade batch I had from Martin was green, and the beads made with it are green.
The new batch I've got from him now has darker green rods, but the beads made with it are brown, exactly the same colour as sage green.
And my sage green from Vetrofond has the same darker green rods as this batch from Effetre.
I'm wondering if there is a mix up in colours now.
I already ask Martin if he could look into this but I haven't got an answer of him yet.

mmm that sounds strange - I actually got mine from Sean at Flame Off so it think its defo Effetre , but that sounds as tho it could be a muddle !

my rods are hooped when you look down them and quite fat. I got mine from Frantz. As you look down them they are a true pistachio green with light brown hoops of colour.

I bought mine locally.

There appear to be two version of this color.  One has obvious rings down the centre with variable diameters.  I have also found that one cools to a greenish color, the other looks light brown.

Hi,

It is an Effetre colour but it is a true "handmade" colour . The first batch we had delivered was the green colour , second batch was a little browner and we are waiting for a third delivery this / next week from Effetre to see which colour this one appears as .

Unfortunatly as a "handmade" there will be colour changes as this is the nature of the glass .

Best wishes ,
martin

Thanks Martin.
I know it's not your fault.
But I do think there is a big difference in the same glass resulting in green beads, or like now, brown beads.
I don't think it's fair from Effetre to sell both under the same name.
I was aiming for the green colour and don't like the brown ones at all.

this is the ones I was looking for:

These were the ones from the first batch.
The second batch are all even rods so I don't think those are handmade. I think it's a machine pulled batch and every time when Effetre does that, the colours loose a lot. The Dark Silver Plum doesn't oil anymore, the Red Roof Tile doesn't give the same reactions with my silverglass anymore, and so on and so on. Every handmade colour that is conversed by Effetre into a machine batch colour I won't buy for myself anymore, cause I'm into the special reaction the handpulled colours give.
