Etching BEFORE or AFTER anneal?

i work by batch annealing, what would you say ?
etch before they go in kiln or after?

i'm sure the shine comes back if you anneal afterwards, it's like flame polishing

I don't think it goes hot enough to fire polish, but I always etch after cleaning, because I don't fancy cleaning acid soaked bead release, and I used to batch anneal before cleaning to reduce breakage. So after for me too!
