clear and DH silver glass

A quick Qu, sorry if it has been asked before. When I use effetre clear glass and then put DH designs, either raised or flush on the bead, I get a local yellowy hue to the clear glass which really detracts and is not nice. I have switched to using pale transparent colours, which work quite well, but is there any way of avoiding this with clear or is it a case of switching clear glass to another brand. I have some vetrafond I think, and some Lauscha clear, but lauscha doesnt stick to DH too well.

It's the silver fuming that's causing the problem. I have a feeling a lot of people use Lauscha, I'm sure someone will come along to give you hints soon! I haven't had a problem with Eff crystal clear - which one are you using?

I guess it depends on the glass you're using - some of it does fume esp aurae.

I know with fine silver some people encase with very pale Aqua.

Aurae will fume Effetre clear 06, if used as a surface decoration, and turns it almost a mid amber colour

Don't use Lauscha to encase, it dislikes a lot of silver glass (cracks). Precision Diamond clear is great!

Thanks, I'll get some precision diamond methinks. Triton is my default DH glass, although I have a mixed batch of DH and also quite fancy trying out aurae.
