Lush!

 ???

Anybody got any tips for this glass please? I can't actually remember why I bought it, and I'm not having a lot of success with it!

Keep it cool while you are working it. You can burn the colour out it. Then once it's done, let the glow fade and gently rewarm in the flame, the colour should bloom. I like it., it's a pretty colour!

what mary sai - but work it at the back of the flame!!!

;D

Or just do what I do, never actually work it in the flame at all, but take out the rods occasionally and look down the centre of them ooing and aaing

works for me

Shirley

Stupid question, what glass is this?  ???

Shirley it's Effetre. Have to say that I've not had much success with it yet!!!

Ah, thanks, guys. Haven't got any of that, I don't think, but did buy some carnelian. Haven't been brave enough to let any opalino near the flame yet, apart from a random rod of nile green that shot up the wall! ;D

Its a funny old glass I must admit, its what I think of as arseing around glass, if I cant just stick it in the flame and wind.......its arseing around glass

I have just finished having a play with this and some of the beads I'm really pleased with and some of the colours just dont do it for me. I found it shockier and a bit stiffer but when its right its right

Definitely worth a play ;)

Try pulling some stringer from this glass and using it on your organics - nice!  It also makes pretty godesses, just needs to be worked cool. ;)

Lush!

I've got some in the kiln now, I tried to remember the "cool" tip so I'll let you know if its worked for me.

Lesley Mac and I discovered a scrummy rod of glass at Di's studio the other week, apparently that was carnelian - it was lush!

we have not found any of the opalinos to be particularly shocky, but we do heed the effetre advice to "introduce it gently from the back of the flame".. the carnelian is an amazing colour - try wrapping it and the using rubino stringer for effects.,.. GENTLY!!!!

Mary

Carnelian is one of my very favourites, I love the colour variations!

I'd love to see some pics of the Carnelian, if anyone's got any... ;)

Mary

Both carnelian, (the first ones have other stuff in).
