Hi can anyone tell me how I can get the inside of my beads looking as lovely and smooth as the outside so I can use for hoops without looking rough?
Any advice gratefully received! :-)

Trudi

make sure you have a good reamer - some people put oil in the hole ......

Handfandango

Thanks, I use a dremel and diamond burrs but still has that whitey rough effect, will try oil! :-)

grit gives a better finish in my opinion ;)

This works very well

The Silicon Carbide Grit.

You will always get some marks but this works very well and is quick

Thanks for your advice peeps, does anyone here tumble their glass, thought that may work??!! :)

Pat from Canvey

If you tumble with steel shot  (as when polishing silver ) you may get some of the shot stuck in the bead holes. Alternatively, using grit will etch the beads, I presume not what you want. Simplest is to dip tip of wet mandrel into grit and polish inside the bead hole as if you are reaming out bead release.

Handfandango

Ah I didn't think about them bring etched , ok that's great advice, grit on order Monday (along with the usual glass related payday goodies!!! ) Thanks everyone! :-)
