If this thread tells me one thing it is that everybody has more glass than me (and it is better organised  :P)

OK, so here is my little playspace.

It is in the corner of the conservatory, but it gets really hot and when the sun shines i cant see my flame, hence the sun parasol......its like being on holiday ;D ;D ;D

As you can see its a bit of a "make do" with an old metal light shade connecting the fan ducting and some metal sheets to provide shade. I didn't make anything permanent as I didn't know when I started lampworking last year if i would like it, but I am addicted and hope to have a more permanent working area soon. My new glass tube store is behind my chair.

I know its messy but I do tidy up each week!

I hope to move into a spare room before winter sets in.

I thought it was time to post a picture of my shedio now that it's been 'lived in' for a while :D

Still lots to do on the storage front and I'm off to Lidl on Monday to get a set of drawers on wheels which look quite handy for storing under the workbench.
I'd really like to get a jewellers bench as well at some point but atm I love my beady space and it's a real pleasure to get away from the spiders in the garage :)
( and yes, I know I need a tie-wrap for that cable ;D )

Here are some pictures of my newly set-up studio

it's in the corner of my conservatory with the oxycon, gas and extraction fan in the garage. The kiln is on wheels so that I can move it away from the wall when it's in use.

I'd like to thank everyone for the info on this forum as it has made setting up this a lot easier. That and lots of help from Sue.

Looks fab, though I reckon you need to put a pair of eyes on your extraction it looks like a sea serpent or the Loch Ness monster

Sorry Linda, I'll have to disssapoint.  It may get a bit messy when I'm playing but I like things nice and tidy.

Madam Steph

:-[ You most certainly wouldn't want to work in my Loungio, then  :D

A woman after my own heart, a nice tidy worker  ;D  Although I do occasionally tip a jar of twistie and stringer across the desk to rummage for colour combos  ::)

:) Ooo, that looks good, a lovely work space ...can I ask what you are using to store the glass in, is it some sort of cage thing?? Looks very useful, my glass is still mostly in jamjars and I would love to get it sorted!

feebee64

I started off with some plastic piping - but when we went to Ikea I saw some under shelf baskets which I thought might do the job.

I bought two and cable tied them together and slid the glass in. The holes aren't massive and it only really works for full rods. My shorter ones are still in a utensil jar.

I like the way your store your bead rollers, Diane, under your kiln! ;D
