That's ACE ladies.  I'm going to have another go with Clio again over the weekend.  Thanks for all your tips!

I love clio - but then may be I have a good batch - I don't use a base just a thin tube - marvered then light reduction tip of the flame and then - try encasing in a colour shifting glass - count von count or larkspur or I've used effetre rose quartz - just working my way through transparent pinks and lilacs  :)

I emphasise what others have said on here. The first batch of Clio I had (which looked like Olympic Rain - it was completely clear), wasn't very good at all for getting pink. The second batch I had - which was wee coloured, was extremely pink and lovely and very very easy to use.
If you're getting rubbish results our of your Clio, it might not be you, shock, horror, probe..... - it might be the glass you're using.
Obviously - I say this with loads of disclaimers as sometimes glass suppliers completely overreact if you infer that it might be the glass and not your own inexperience...... ::)

I have brownish rods, pinkish rods, lilacy rods, all strike to varying degrees of pinky/purple  :-\

Kate, you had some gorgeous pinky/purple beads made with Clio at the GBUK bead fair....some of which came home with me.   ;D ;D   Which colour rods do you find produce the best pinky/purple beads?

I hadn't realised Clio comes in a variety of shades.  I have some lilacy rods but have not really achieved the colour I was hoping to get.   :(

Yeah the lilacy ones weren't the best for me if I'm honest  :-\ I got the best results from the Brownish/wee coloured ones ;D I put it over Reichenbach gold ruby light. K xx

I've had the pale lilac ones and not had a problem getting the colours out of them (the beads I've already posted are made with these rods), But I do have some of the darker brown rods and I'm getting richer colours from that batch.
