I've been playing with this this morning, I was wondering if anyone else had found it particularly shocky, or is an odd rod that I should anneal?

Its a little shocky but mine is not too bad ... Wicked colour !

I really fancy getting some of this colour  :)

This rod was very shocky.  Maybe I shall put it through an annealing cycle see if that helps.

It is a very interesting colour, but one that seems to work best with other colours then on it's own.

I also found it very shocky, but it's a lovely colour. I've been using it as stringer and finding it much easier to work with when pulled thinner.

Generally I do use it as stringer. (she says thinking of the only other time that she has used it and that was for Manda's Harlequin beads)
I did used a different rod to last time and that one didn't seem to shock at all.

This rod was spitting every 1/2 and inch.

I have put it in the kiln for the next time I run it.  I was wondering if it was worth putting the lot in?

I've not used it yet but I ordered some from Martin a while ago and it came with a note warning it was VERY shocky and to try warming it first.

Ahhhh,  I got some of mine in march and some a few weeks ago and all mine was from Sean.

Thank you

Oh, how I wish I'd read this thread before I bought mine.  I can't say I wasn't warned because the lovely people at Tuffnells are always honest about this kind of thing, but did I listen ...? ::)  I got it this morning and should have had an idea that it's a bit temperamental, as its the first time I've received glass where every rod was damaged.  Suffice it to say that if anybody needs some pistachio frit, I have a couple of rods worth.  ;D
To say it's shocky is the understatement of the century, and as I'm still somewhat wary of the kiln, has anybody found another way of making this very pretty glass behave?  And if not, who wants it!!

I've had a similar issue with anise white, that stuff is frit on a stick - but I love it!  On more than one occassion it has arrived in half inch or inch long pieces and the other glass has been completely intact.  It seems to be a sure sign that a glass is going to be stroppy in the flame if some of it is in bits in the package and other glass around it in the same package isn't.

I poke my rods in the front of the kiln before I use it. It reacts very strangley with silver, I put a set of beads in The Gallery that has a pistacchio bead in and its gone a weird colour.

Hmm - don't think I'll buy it again ... if I want frit, I'll buy it from Sam  ;D  Had another go tonight, and I'm sure I have a bald patch now.  If anybody is brave enough, they are welcome to the rest - be glad to see the back of it now!  I've used anise white quite a bit and it can be a bit temperamental but this stuff is just bad tempered.  :P

If you want to swap it for real frit, I'm game for a laugh!  PM me if you are interested hun ;)

How strange - mine isn't shocky at all.

I'm not convinced about the colour - its a little like wasabi but not enough to make me love it.

It behaves in an interesting way with silver glass (probably the same as Kay's with silver)  but the only bead I made with it sold before I'd removed it from the mandrel so I must be in the minority  ::)
