I have been messing, taking some close up photos of my organic beads with a much better camera than mine ... I thought I'd share :)

:)

I love the funky landscapes that can be found in organic beads :)

I started making these Bosom Buddies beads as a way to make people smile and raise a bit of money for cancer research UK as well. I will be making more of these in many colours so if you have any requests just let me know. It's brought a smile to my dad's face so it's all worth it!

Hope you like!

Blimey did I have a marathon session yesterday!   :D

Manda's 5mm mandrels arrived on Thursday or Friday, so I thought that I would have a play with them and see if I could manage to make anything half decent with a big hole.   To be honest, I am a bracelet addict - this is where my love of lampwork comes from and before I decided to do it myself, I used to spend all my pennies on beads from other artists - I used to LIVE on Etsy, spending money!

Anyway - I wanted to see if I could make anything that I could maybe wear myself, obviously would  need to get it annealed, but Sabine has very kindly offered kiln space to me.

Anyway - after a couple of wonky starts - here's my first efforts!

I also had a go at making some encased florals - I was surprised at how much I enjoyed making them!   Fascinating stuff, glass!

The one type of DH glass that I am not managing to get a tune out of at all is Clio - really really disappointed, as I thought that this one might be the best to get some really vibrant pinks and purples, but I just seem to be reducing it to opaque boring nothingness!   I am going to leave it alone for a while, as I don't want to waste any more of it.  Perhaps I am over reducing it??

Here's the photos anyway!   Thanks for looking!

Three big hole beads, with a little silvered ivory.... I can't actually for the life of me now remember the other glass that I used, but was quite pleased with the results!

Here's my attempt at the encased florals..... (please excuse the bead release!!)

and here's a few others that I made too.

Deesigned Beads

I have some new work - A large disk made of layers of soft sandy coloured glass.  I dragged sections of the glass to create a pattern, and added some raised dots on the perimeter of the disk.
