white glass

I just bought some new white glass from Martin and made a whole batch of
beads really nice beads only to find them all smudged and grey looking when
they came out of the kiln
I also annealed some other white beads at the same time, the old batch, and
they came out fine
Has this happened to any one else?
This is so frustrating I am wondering if this is a bad batch
Any comments appreciated

might be worth cleaning the rods   ...they have been on a long journey to get to you and handled by god knows how many at flameoff and could have picked up some muck along the way ......

Is your propane running out, I get sooty looking glass when my bottle is almost empty.
