I have managed to find instructions on how to program my Prometheus kiln to ramp up and ramp down.  Yes it has to be done at each stage so I need to baby sit it.  But what I am trying to find out is

1)  What temp to ramp to and over what time
2)  How long to leave at the top temp
3)  Over how long to ramp it down to room temp.

I have tried to work it out from some of the other instructions I have found on the forum for other kilns but must be having a blonde day I do not understand the other program listing.

I'm assuming you are batch annealing.

Heat it up at 150 degrees per hour until you get to 520 degrees (should take about 3 1/2 hours). Then "hold" the temperature for 30 minutes to an hour (the larger your beads the longer you should hold them at this temperature). Then cool the kiln down at 80 degrees per hour until you reach 370 degrees (should take about 1 3/4 hours). After that you can switch off the kiln.

thanks Redkit.  Yes  did mean to say for batch annealing.  Will probably use the annealing bubbles for while I make the beads and the kiln is too small for the mandrels to use for garaging.

I used a minikiln before I upgraded to an SC2. Mostly I bulk annealed but if I was making bigger beads or sculptural things that I thought would be better annealed immediately I found that a few would sit diagonally in the kiln with the mandrels out of the opening side of the door (does that make sense?). I used a wire grid that I had for enamelling to balance the mandrels on. The kiln stayed at a very constant temperature as long as the door was not too far open.
