I know i'm not strictly a newbie anymore but I can't for the life of me find the answer to this anywhere!

How many COE 'points' can you go before glass becomes incompatible? I mean, would COE90 be compatible with 96? How about with a frit that's listed as being 91-94? Would that work with 90?

I believe there is a %-rule to how much glass of a different coe you can combine with a base glass.  Is it 5% or 15%, I wonder?? Please, somebody?

Basically, if you make a bead of one COE you can sprinkle some frit of a different COE on it, but there might be issues if you encase with certain glasses, or if your initial glass contains f.ex. silver (which does not have the same coe as effetre glass!). I do not think you will have problems using a little coe91-94 frit with both coe90 and coe96 glass.

We use 96coe with 104, so the other way should work too. Just don't try 104 with 90, it doesn't work!

Frit is good stuff, it is furnace glass with lead usually, the lead makes it more forgiving for coe mixing.
