Northstar and double helix help please

Morning everyone.
I have a friend comming over this morning and she is bringing her samples of northstar and double helix with her. She is a lucky girl!
Neither of us have used it before.
Any ideas of which rods to reduce, strike, oxidise (if thats the right word for high oxygen flame) or anything else would be gratefully received.
Or any colours that they go well with?
We are planning on having a whole day playing with fire. Lucky me!
