Oiling cores?

I've been usng olive &vegetable oil so far, or do I need to get oil pressed out of midnight-blooming roses by the hands of blind, naked buddhist  (bead-hist?) monks from the outskirts of a small village near Ulaan-Baatar - and if so, is it on special offier anywhere?

Do you want me to see if I've got a spare bottle somewhere Sabine - I'm sure they were on three for two at Waitrose last week

Hmm never done this myself, but why not use a mandrel the same size that you used to make the bead, dip that in clear nail polish and run it through the hole?
