Red copper green is a pretty terracotta colour. It goes back to minty green under some conditions, sometimes you'll get a mix of both colours, and it goes pink under clear. The red is the reduced colour, so you should be fine on a HH. Ordinary copper green might go reddish or silvery for you, but I like it like that too.

Shirley

Ordinary copper green is wonderful on a hothead. Just about my favourite actually. Enjoy playing! :)

I second what Claire said......I got some lovely beads using this combo ;D

Mary

Dark silver plum is good on a Hot Head too!

Shirley

I use tons of silver leaf - base bead, wrap with leaf, burn in and then roll in frit. You can get some great silver effects.

Sandy, I tried this a couple of weeks ago and the result was a bit blah, did you put your beads straight into the kiln? I batch annealed so I'm wondering if that makes a difference. ???

Les

Did you get any problems with a dull greyish surface on the beads ?? Sometimes the turquoises and copper greens come out looking a bit manky. This can be resolved by soaking the annealed beads in coca cola over night ... I think some other bathroom cleaning products can do the same job too....

Twas just a thought....

yep, that'll be my advice too - the colours can devitrify on the surface, and the coke "eats" that up!!..

;)

OK - just searched the fugly pot for it and dunked it in cola. I'll have another bash with the combo, thanks Les and Q.

I do love red copper green on ivory though.

here are the beads, totally different than when they went in the kiln, they were batch annealed,
odd pic but the light was fading, i hope it shows the colours,

OOOh nice,  love the colours in there.
