Just a quickie!!! I made some beads for silver cores last night and did one with a base of dirty martini (CIM). I then used 0.5mm fine silver wire around the bead then encased with clear (i think vetro clear but might have been lausha) got bead out of kiln this morning and it has cracked. Any ideas, pretty sure i got it in kiln before it cooled to much but wondered if it was the clear and the silver reacting. The silve wire was not melted into the base bead but by the time i finished encasing the silver had formed little balls!!!
any suggestions gratefully received!!!
Cheers

Sorry to hear that - I hate cracked beads!
I've heard that some CIM colours don't like getting encased. But I am not sure this is the reason why yours cracked...

Possibly maybe either too much silver under the encasing (I usually use much finer wire when encasing silver wire) - or not enough encasing. I've had cracking issues with encased silver wire where I used too much silver, when I reduced the amount I used t all sorted itself out. Consider using thinner wire and a thicker encasement.
