Hi,

I'm setting up an area in my garage for my wife and I to do lampworking. Can anyone suggest what is the best lighting to go for.

Thanks Tony

Hiya, I use a daylight bulb in an anglepoise type lamp to one side to check colours & colour progression. The bulbs are expensive but make a huge difference  :)

Dragonfire Glass

I have some LED and some halogen ;D

Jellybean

I have a daylight bulb and a daylight lamp... can't work without them :-)

Blue Box Studio

My shedio is quite light anyway (except for winter when nothing is quite light) so only have a double strip light and a cheapie Ikea anglepoise type of thing that nods to the table when it gets warm.  Not noticed a real problem so far.  I only have decent lights for my light tent and photographing.

Natural light from a large north-facing window is best. Daylight (full spectrum) lamps, as bright as possible, the next best. You can work with less good light but it's more strain on the eyes and more difficult to judge true colours.
